Airing from 19th October, MaeBee is a BRAND NEW animated series, available on CBeebies, RTÉ KIDSJr and France Television from Karrot and Kavaleer Productions!
MaeBee follows a small, but MIGHTY young gnome called Mae, and her foster brother Bee, as they strive to fill Mae’s Book of BIG, so she can eventually become a grown-up.
It’s about close-knit, multigenerational family and friends, community and tradition, personal growth, diversity and a childlike curiosity to get out into the world – all mixed into a hearty stew of magical comedy-adventure.
Each episode dives into fantasy, myth and fairytale (both old and brand new), creating a world of magic and tradition for the audience to discover and embrace.
Created by Tim and Rebecca O’Sullivan.

Happy birthday to our favourite party-loving human man frog! ..... He might be the only human man frog we know but he`s still our favourite.
Celebrate in style and watch the brand-new MaeBee right now on BBC iPlayer.
How goes the disaster? Why does this feel like a familiar sight with small children at this time of year?! We hope your day is filled with less sugar and chaos than usual. Happy Halloween
What have you and your little gnomes learnt this week?
Share your stories and pictures with us, and we`ll add them to our Book of BIG!
Now we want to believe Bee is responsible, but for some reason, we`re finding it a little tricky. Go on then, Bee we believe in you ... 😬
Watch brand new MaeBee on CBeebies, BBC iPlayer and RTÉ.
Is your little gnome talking about characters you don’t know? Here is a handy guide to Mae and Bee’s friends. ➡️
Nis is Mae and Bee’s best and most imaginative friend! He is altogether a much calmer, quieter gnome, but his brain is full of ideas which he can bring to life with his hat power!
Marsha the turtle is a delight! …and totally not a beast, just a turtle with a great sense of humour, who can swim super fast and navigate raging rapids all while telling you a joke!
Lionel the Frog is a former life coach, and former human, who once gave a witch, with a rather classical sense of humour, some rather bad advice, getting himself turned into a frog…. But that hasn’t stopped him giving his poor advice to the inhabitants of the Green Garden.
Minni is a sweet, albeit rather cheeky firefly who has appointed herself as Lionel’s assistant, much to his distress. She loves to garden in her greenhouse home and chastise Lionel for his pompous behaviour.
Deep in Woodland lives the Witch Linda, a mysterious character with incredible powers!
Tiger is Witch Linda’s cat familiar! A blind tabby who, while huge and scary-looking to a gnome, is actually rather sweet, timid and adorable!
Tonti and Tomte are Mae’s favourite twins! Tonti is more of a do-er and relentless with it, Tomte is more studious and cautious, but together they are a perfect balance - two very sensible gnomes, eager to be led astray!
Skog is a huge moss troll that lives under a bridge in Woodland. Though Skog looks intimidating, and being a rock makes them very different, Skog is a friendly and surprisingly polite Troll …as long as you don’t go back on your promises..
Drew is a very chatty earthworm with terrible timing, always popping up for a natter while you’re carrying something heavy. With literally an ear to the ground, Drew loves a good gossip and is always eager to tell Mae and Bee the latest news or exciting rumour.
Dud, Domo and Mano are a tricky trio of cheeky chaps! These identical gnome triplets are keen to play that to their advantage and have as much fun as possible at everyone else’s expense. The boys were recently adopted by Pop Acorn, who is only just realising what they’ve let them
Ahhh, nothing like a bit of sibling love. Is this a familiar sight in your home?
