Karrot teamed up with Flashing Lights Media for Series 2 of their show, Magic Hands – a poetry show that uses the rich, visual language of British Sign Language to bring stories to life.
Karrot worked with Directors Camilla Arnold, Caroline O’Neill and the Flashing Lights team and designed a new cast of characters for the presenters to interact and engage with. We then set on the task of producing 20 x 11 minute episodes, from initial storyboards to full animation and compositing.
The series covered a rich and versatile number of poems and stories, including The Pied Piper, Beowulf, The Spider & the Fly, The Odyssey and 5 plays by William Shakespeare!
Episodes aired on CBeebies on Feb & March of 2016 and were part of the BBC’s Shakespeare Festival 2016.
