Today a bushel of Karrots descended on the BFI Southbank for the BBC and RadioTimes Celebration of Children’s Television featuring programming from way back in the 50s up to present day. It was great to see old favourites like Bagpuss and the Teletubbies again, as well as seeing the premiere of a brand new episode from series two of Sarah & Duck, starring none other than kids TV legend, Derek Griffiths!
As part of the event there was a poll conducted by the Radio Times where the general public could vote for their favourite BBC characters by decade. Sarah and Duck was ranked 2nd in the 2000’s category, which was massively exciting, humbling and …well, pretty fantastic really! Thank you to the event organisers, The Radio Times, the BFI and most importantly all the kids and parents that voted and came down for the show!
Series two of Sarah & Duck begins again on CBeebies this August, but you can catch series one of the show here on the BBC iPlayer in the meantime!
