This weekend, ‘Here’s Johnny’, a documentary featuring Karrot’s animation is up for best ‘Multichannel Programme’ at the 2010 Royal Television Society awards.

Produced by our friends down at Brighton’s Animal Monday, and aired last year on More 4’s True Stories, this touching hour-long film follows 2000AD and Judge Dredd artist Johnny Hicklenton’s battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Animation was used to illustrate the darker moments of Johnny’s journey, and to help bring to life his personal drawings, ensuring that his artwork style had a strong presence in the piece.

The documentary has already won a growing collection of prizes including the ‘Audience Award’ at last year’s London Independent Film Festival, as well as an unprecedented 2 Grierson Awards.
